Care Guide

How to keep your handcrafted pieces beautiful for years to come.

Handcrafted items made from natural materials require a little more care than mass-produced goods — but they also reward that care with lasting beauty. Follow these guidelines to preserve your pieces.

Pottery & Ceramics

  • Wipe clean with a soft, dry cloth after each use.
  • Avoid soaking in water — the porous clay can absorb moisture and weaken over time.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners or scrubbing pads.
  • For decorative pieces, dust regularly and keep out of direct sunlight to preserve glazed colors.
  • Handle with care — pottery can chip or crack from sharp impacts.

Textiles & Fabrics

  • Hand wash in cool water with mild detergent. Avoid machine washing unless specified.
  • Do not wring or twist — gently press excess water out.
  • Air dry in shade to prevent fading from direct sunlight.
  • Iron on low heat or steam from the reverse side.
  • Store folded in a cool, dry place. Avoid plastic bags — use breathable cotton storage bags.

Brass & Metalwork

  • Polish regularly with a dry microfiber cloth to maintain shine.
  • For deeper cleaning, use a brass-specific cleaner or a paste of flour, salt, and white vinegar.
  • Avoid exposure to moisture or humidity, which can cause tarnishing.
  • Do not use steel wool or abrasive materials.
  • Apply a thin coat of natural wax periodically to protect the finish.

Papyrus & Wall Art

  • Keep away from direct sunlight, which fades pigments over time.
  • Do not expose to moisture or humidity.
  • Dust gently with a dry soft brush — never use water or cleaning products.
  • Frame behind UV-protective glass for long-term preservation.
  • Roll papyrus scrolls with the image facing inward when storing.

Jewelry

  • Remove before showering, swimming, or exercising.
  • Clean with a soft cloth after wearing to remove oils and moisture.
  • Store separately in a pouch or jewelry box to prevent scratching.
  • Avoid exposure to perfumes, lotions, and chemicals.
  • For copper pieces, occasional polishing with a lemon-salt mixture restores shine.
